Wendy Bagnall
Wendy Bagnall is a photographic artist who lives in England. The natural landscape is the inspiration behind her work, which is an interpretation of what she sees. Wendy’s approach is unrestrictive and often with an abstract quality, augmenting the light, texture and topography of the landscape, creating pieces that aim to evoke an emotional connection with the viewer. Wendy is not restricted to a single subject matter within the landscape, which is important, as it enables her to be authentic and driven by what she connects with. This affords her freedom, allowing Wendy’s work to span different landscape genres. Her approach is therefore diverse and she uses a range of photographic approaches to achieve the final result.
Her ‘Imagined’ collection, is bold in its interpretation of the landscape, using in-camera techniques to create a series of abstract works. It plays with the topography, tone and texture of the natural environment, creating depth and complexity. Wendy’s vision for this collection, involved working with landscape elements, to generate pieces that offer a sense of place. The work invites an awakening of the senses, whilst fuelling the imagination and allows for a personal interpretation and connection to the landscapes portrayed. Created from locations around the United Kingdom, the collection promotes a ‘local’ attitude towards photography, one that is more sensitive to the environment, whilst championing the beauty of the natural world on our doorstep.
In addition to her exhibited piece, other works are available to purchase, on a print only basis. All works are limited editions of 25 and can be offered in two different sizes.
